Me/n
Hi guys ( and girls ofcourse),
I wanted to know a good build for my ME/N, im in augry rock right now and i like the interupting part of being a mesmer, but after i used my 3/4 interupts, im done and just stand there waving my cane around.
The other skills i use are res sig, energy burn and empaty, and energy tap.
So good tips are always welcome.....
Thnx

chaos strorm
cry of frurstration
guilt
shatter delusions
shatter hex
the inspiration line is nice.
drain enchantment
power drain is another good interrupt.
a mesmer is allowed to stand around a little imo. he's not direct damage. having a mesmer interrupt the bosses elite over and over is worth a lot more than damage to me in a group of 8
and you're a necro secondary. man there's a beautiful world of hex's and curses in there.
enfeebling blood/shadow of fear
spiteful spirit/mark of pain
mesmer/necro is a bad mofo

Not sure if I'd use Chaos Storm since mobs tend to scatter like cats from a taser when you use AOE spells these days, unless that is the effect you want. If you're gonna be a debuffer for your group, I'd say stick with domination/curses/inspiration. You definately won't have that much of a damage output, but you'll be a huge help to your party of you do it well.

In PVE I typically go 7/8 skills necro with my Me/Ne....If I don't have any bosses to shut down in a given area.....that is generally solo of course.
Typically Blood/Death or Curses if I am in SF or some such.
Lean into your Necro side and PVE will get easier and easier. Use your Me side for specific circumstances......

Personally, I would rather have a N/Me than a Me/N.
1. Mesmer primary is fast casting, which is nice but for the most part most necro spells do not have crazy cast times (unlike elementalist skills).
2. Necro primary is soul reaping, which is an outstanding energy management skill, one thing I would argue that Mesmers really need to keep up with the number of hexes they cast.
3. Necro armor is MUCH cooler than the negligees and masks of the fruity mesmer.

Here's my Me/N that works really nicely in PvE:
Fast Casting: 3 (doesn't help that much in PvE, it can, but not for this build)
Illision: 12+1+2 (costume mask and runes)
Dom: 6+0+1 (rune)
Isparation: 0
Death: 0
Blood: 0
Curses: 10
(At level 20, at Auguary Rock, you'll have 15 less atribute points, but take them out of fast casting probably)
For my skills I normally carry:
Con. Phantasm
Phantom Pain
Faintheartedness
Empathy
Rigor Mortus
Mark of Pain
Ethernal Burden
Soul Barbs
Notes:
Obviously this is a Health Degen build, but I've found it's really good at taking out enemies quickly, especially in teams. If your stats are right, you should be right at a -10 health degen with all three spells. A nice equip will bring your energy up to a decent level that you can cast often enough. Soul Barbs is kinda the basis of the build. It should do about 25 damage on every hex, granted that's not a lot per hex, but if you've got a water ele, another mes, or a necro it adds up fast. Not to mention that empaty will add up fast too. Not to mention, Rigor Mortis won't do much damage when it's just you, but when you've got eight people bearing down on the same enemy with no way to dodge, it adds up super fast. I don't think this will help much at augury rock though... here would be my suggestion:
Hexbreaker
Ethernal Burden
Imagined Burden
those will do good if you never cast any hexes on the doppleganger. Keep in mind that you have a brain and he's just a computer. Use that and find skills that you can know how to use, but he won't. If you're not to the doppleganger yet, you'll be there soon enough to think about it... just don't stress out of course...
The most important thing is to find a style you like... It should work pretty well... and to those who say they would rather be Necro/Mes I say, "Bah" nothing is cooler than riverdancing in a costume mask!

Necro has 23 skills/spells that take 2 seconds or longer to cast. I think ele has around 27
I said Mesmer primary because imo you will be more successful in PVP, GVG than a primary Necro would be. I love playing a Necro. I love many of the skills. But in pvp i would much rather face a well played necro than a well played mesmer. I believe a Mesmer/Necro is more efficient than a Necro/Mesmer.
with that said...I agree that in PVE a Necro primary is more useful and i would rather have necros on my team than mesmers. Soul Reaping works VERY well in PVE but not as well in PVP imo.
as far as looking 'fruity'....its ok to look gay if you strip your opponent of all his energy. adds to the humiliation.
